Back when my ex was going through 27 long months of legal issues (from accusation to sentencing), “stress” and “worry” were my middle names. Every single day was filled with thoughts of fear and anxiety for the future and sadness and confusion for the present.

How would I get a lawyer or pay for one good enough? How would I bail my husband out of jail? What would I tell the kids? What does this mean for our job and our home?

My questions went from every possible scenario on how to keep my family safe and together when I believed he was innocent to how to survive alone with just me and my kids once I found out he was guilty.

How can I survive on just my income? Where will we live? Who will want to hire me now that I’m associated with him?

To be honest, I am surprised that I didn’t have multiple panic attacks (or heart attacks for that matter) over the course of 2+ years.
