
They love baseball, but they don’t like going to practice. School sucks and homework is even worse. Any challenge is met with whining and complaining.
Commitments and routines are important. Pushing through challenges at their age level will prepare them mentally and emotionally (sometimes even physically) for the greater challenges they will encounter as adults.
If they can’t learn how to deal with the easy steps to reach their goals now… if they can’t focus and commit on the small things now… then doing so as an adult will be nearly impossible.
They’ll become unable or unwilling to keep a job. They’ll avoid anything that isn’t “fun”. And they will push all of their problems and responsibilities on someone else.
Teaching your children to focus, to push through challenges, and to overcome difficult times will benefit them in the long run.
